Dear Friends of the Africa Centre,
This is an urgent message.
We have learnt that this Friday 3rd June 2011, the trustees of the Africa Centre are intending to sign a legally binding option to sell the Africa Centre to property developer, Capital and Counties prior to an Extraordinary General Meeting on 20th June 2011 – which they have called to discuss the sale with the Africa Centre’s Members.
We are asking the trustees on behalf of the 1, 500+ signatories to the petition – as well as all friends, members and beneficiaries of the Africa Centre – and future generations of Africans to Not sign any legally binding option before the EGM on 20th June – and confirm this to us as petitioners and friends of the Africa Centre by Wednesday 1st June.
We have less than one week to galvanise the wonderful support that we have received for the campaign to save the Africa Centre – before Africa is thrown out of Covent Garden to make way for a high-end men’s clothes shop – and therefore write to you urgently to ask you to turn up on:
Thursday 2nd June at 12:30pm to show your solidarity with the Campaign at
